It was all about Marcia's 50th Earthstrong Bash, a night called 'Live Your Life' at Dailey's on Saturday, June 27th. The sell off bash was a night filled with celebration as Cleveland masses came in full force to Marcia's party well past 4am.
As Chat 'Bout entered the dance a little after 2am, the parking lot meter was on medium as the sounds of the dance filled the air. The parking lot was not a true example of the crowd because Dailey's was RAMMED!!
Partygoers were welcomed to the venue by cascades of gold through the placing including a gold multi tiered chandelier with 50 streamers adorning the dance floor. The décor also featured 50 pictures of the hostess - from the doors and cake table, including a huge poster for guests to sign their best wishes, all in place to carry out the ?Live Your Life' theme. To complete the look, 50 gold and green balloons flowed throughout the venue.
Star Temple CB supplied a few early warm tumes for the crowd with some dancehall favs 'Like a Virgin' and ?I Will Survive' tunes guaranteed to get the ladies on the floor...
New Horizon Powerstone kept the party moving with some hot tunes including 'Rompin' Shop' and 'Rich This Year' by Charly Black (my NEW anthem) and tribute to MJ that really got party people dancing and singing paying respect to the icon.
But soon, the dance turned white hot as Marcia's brother, KC Platinum took control of the tunes and BLAZED the place - and had the crowd going mad! KC Platinum was on fire with dancehall favs 'Hypocrite' and newer tunes 'Stinkin' Rich and 'Money Dreama'. Big Up KC Platinum for bringin' the vibes of Ruben's and Dad's Hall back to the dance!
The crowd was thick for this bash; big up New Horizon Curly, Star Temple Ricky Hype, Bashment Crew, Craig Town Girls, Tanya and Kellie Classic, Maggie and Sharon Untouchable, Michie Boo, Ms. Che, Phil Pot, Reggae Boyz, Patrick, Ms. Coolie and of course Cleveland's dancehall divas, Destinee, Ms. Trini and Lady Spyda (keeping a low profile).
2009 is fast becoming the year of the dancehall queens and kings as NYC Dancin' Twinz, Lady Nikkie, Minnesota's own KarKell, Karmen and Kellie, Coogi King and 2008 Midwest DHQ Skittlez blessed up the dance with some new moves to keep the party even more hype. Much love for returning to Cleveland time after time keeping our party scene on the map.
As expected, the dance turned up to yet another level quickly moved to daggering mode as tunes such as RDX 'Bend Ova', and Charly Black's 'Inna Yuh P** P**' filled the air. The party was clearly on it was to going way past 5am. With all the dancing, daggerin' and great tunes, no one seemed to notice.
Soon, the dreaded Dailey's lights came on just in time to see that notorious grey gate lowering slowly as party patrons from the back oozed out into the light. But in true Dailey's fashion as the music still played, the party kept going and people kept dancing until -
-the music actually stopped.
People looked towards the sound to see a wee likkle Ms. Hopi standing by New Horizon Powerstone. Chat ?Bout couldn't make out the exact words, but it was clearly on the lines of .....late......I have to go home..turn it off.
But we all know what that meant.
The crowd continued to look to the sounds to get the bash back on track only to see a scolded Powerstone and Curly taking up the sound trust me, the look on Powerstone's and Curly's faces were priceless, uh oh!!!!
(She obviously doesn't like daggering either!)
All in all this dance ended on the same great note in which it started; good vibes, good tunes, packed house and at the end of the night, partygoers enjoying an early morning 'snack' of jerk pork, curried goat, stew chicken, fish and of a series of birthday cakes - all prepared by the hostess herself!
(If you ever had the pleasure of having Marcia's cooking, it is definitely a treat!)
Isn't that a great way for a bash to end?
Catching up,
Bashy
