 KC Platinum Birthnite Bash 3.7.09

KC Platinum

(AKA Mr. Personality)

presents:

"Change has Come...Storm is Over!!!"

March 7, 2009

Dailey's Blue Mountain

Cleveland came in full support to celebrate the Earthstong bash of one of our true dancehall icons, KC Platinum for a night called, "Change has Come...Storm is Over!!!" at Dailey's Blue Mountain Inn last Saturday.  (the name, truly appropriate for the affair as showers from the day seemed to clear up right around party time!)

Chat 'Bout Cleveland made a record early appearance to the dance by 1am (planning ahead for daylight savings time).  There was a small but mighty crowd soaking up the tunes of New Horizon Powerstone, supplying the crowd with some old school vibes to warm things up for the bash.

With an instant, the dance was jam packed as partygoers filled Dailey's by about 1:30 with Star Temple keeping the crowd moving as the place filled to capacity.  Obviously, there were no concerns that the party jumped from 2 to 3am as CB announced Organik Sound to the table to keep the party and the crowd moving right along into the night.

Returning to Dailey's after a brief hiatus, DJ Lava Ranks blessed the crowd with some newer dancehall tunes to carry partygoers into full party mode.  Big up DJ Jelli (Lava's better half) in the crowd supporting.  Like hubby, DJ Jelli is holding things down as the resident Tuesday night DJ for the Olive Twist (formerly 4U2B Lounge).  The chat 'bout is the club has been newly renovated from 'the floor to the ceiling', but, no future plans for a reggae night ( - not yet!)

Also in the crowd, supporting Mr. Personality were Maggie and Sharon Untouchable, New Horizon Doe Doe (promoting his FREE MADH bash coming on the 28th), DJ Curly, 1/3 Barbie Doll/Bashment Crew, Kelly Kells, Reggae Boyz Patrick, Michie Boo, Summer Body Suzie Q, Stacey, Phil Pot, Ms. Trini - looking ultra femme (too cute), Glama G, Flava Unit (still waiting on your next bash) and Cleveland's own American Dancehall Queen, Destiny on the verge of her 40th earth strong in the D on April 11th (Why am I always tempted to ask for her driver license!)  Chat 'Bout even spotted Diamond Girl Wanda and Onnie (see you rockin' the silver, ma!) on hand to send Mr. Platinum some birthday wishes.

KC was happy to see the masses that continue to support him after all these years.  True dancehall veterans remember KC Soundstation; weekly nights at Ruben's, big bashes at Dad's Hall and who could forget his HUGE stage shows like Buju and Lady Saw?  Mr. Platinum also wants Cleveland to know that big things will be on the rise in 2009, so keep supporting and YES, keep watching!

With the success of this bash, dare we say BEST BASH OF THE YEAR nominee?

Always thinking ahead,

Bashy

BTW - In case you were on of the few who missed this bash, here are a few pics.  Enjoy!
